Core Purpose:

The role is responsible for overseeing all service operations across multiple locations and offices, ensuring the delivery of top-quality maintenance, repair, and support services to our clients. The Service Director is a pivotal leader with responsibility for managing a large and geographically diverse service team.

 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a dispersed service team, setting clear objectives, and providing guidance and support to meet service goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage technical knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, holding an engineering qualification or significant engineering experience.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Multi-Location Operations: Oversee service operations across multiple site locations and three offices, ensuring consistent service quality and adherence to company standards.
  • Service Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance service processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to optimize service delivery. 
  • Service Reporting: Generate regular reports on service performance, client feedback, and operational efficiency for the executive team.  
  • Technical Training: Provide ongoing technical training and development opportunities for the service team.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all service activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.

 

Skills and Experience/Education

  • Technical background and an engineering qualification or a minimum of 10 years of experience in service leadership roles in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.
  • Strong track record of success in service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Service Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing service teams in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth technical knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, supported by an engineering qualification or substantial engineering experience.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and analytical skills to develop effective service strategies.
  • Client Relationship Building: Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain client connections.
  • Multi-Location Management: Experience in managing service operations across multiple locations and offices.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budget management and financial analysis.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information and strategies effectively.
  • Results-Driven: A track record of achieving and exceeding service targets and objectives.
  • Team Management: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a large and diverse service team.
